To me, the feeling of love is what makes life worth living. We can talk about romantic love, parental love, universal love. Any form of love will be always a good reason for having taken this life journey. Even the Soul comes in this body as a gift to be able to experience the connection to Universal Energy and Love is an expression of it. Even when we just get glimpses of that deep truth we find long lasting satisfaction .
In Buddhist traditions it is said that before dying what you remember are the acts of goodness you experienced in your life. Whenever you are in a situation in which you are giving without expecting anything in return you are loving, like in devotion, but here is the thing:
How many of us are not able to apply those behaviors towards our own Self?
Can we at least stop and breath and perform on each day an act of love and compassion towards honoring our values and needs?
I hope so. For some it is easy, for others is not. In honor of this noble feeling, let's reflect upon it , meditate on it and when you are engaged in your daily life, ask yourself how can you move forward in a way that expresses love and self love .
Identify 5 actions that represent self love. Mine are simple : do small workouts frequently; cook , meditate, allow plenty of time for sleep , say yes when I want to say yes and no when it is needed.
It is so easy to spend all the time we have helping other people........remember to love, love, love whenever possible, even when you have anger on the surface or some other heavier emotions. You can always dig in and identify the calm under the storm and I assure you, it is always there.
